Vues d’Issy
Issy-les-Moulineaux, France
This project affirms the desire to engage in a dialogue with its surroundings, with the aim of initiating a new way of living together, based on the generosity of private and communal outdoor spaces.
Work on the spread of the roofs allows variations to be introduced into the silhouette that cuts into the sky, as well as multiplying the appropriation of different roofs. In this way, it provides a vision of different scales for users of the surrounding area, and a variety of places for the building’s residents. The project thus plays on the idea of movement, backgrounds and multiplicity.
Read more: Vues d’IssyThe principle of the building is to be able to offer each dwelling a real outdoor living space, in a lush environment. The building’s massing follows the gradient of the site, offering radical, generous architecture in a neighborhood undergoing change.
The landscape is an essential element of the project. Vegetation accompanies the architecture and enriches its uses for future residents.
The stepped design can be seen as a succession of terraces following the slope up to the roof. Like a hanging garden, the landscape and vegetation will be present at every level of the project, offering a variety of relationships, views and uses for the residents.
