Confluence School Group
Saint-Denis, France
It is through education and access to knowledge that women and men become civilised beings, capable of living in society and respecting each other.
The educated and cultured individual then belongs to the human race. School is the essential gateway that must offer everyone, without distinction, a chance to develop and find their place in an increasingly individualistic society.
Read more: Confluence School GroupState schools are a place of mixing and diversity. Early childhood facilities are the first stage in a person’s long educational journey. Learning to live in a community and the notion of a group. In a neighbourhood, a public building is also a landmark, a place where people come together.
We wanted this symbolism of education and the notion of sharing to be strongly expressed. So the project is built from its relationship with the street, a real sensory gateway, right through to the playground. The programme has been laid out in such a way as to provide maximum sunlight for the playground.
