Annuel Optimiste d’Architecture 2007

French Touch

The Optimistic Architecture Annual aims to showcase inventive French production, a vibrant pool that reveals the richness of contemporary architecture like never before, and which has nothing to envy from other countries such as Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, or Japan.

The annual features a selection made from over 200 projects. Some architects whose work we wanted to present chose not to join us this time. We hope that this first volume will inspire them to share their work in future editions.

French Touch was founded a year and a half ago out of a desire for architects to meet and exchange ideas about our ongoing or completed projects. We gather once a month at one of the group members’ agencies, bringing a project to present and a bottle to share.

Beckmann and N’Thépé, Hamonic and Masson, Jacques Moussafir, Pangalos and Dugasse, Périphériques Architectes, Plan01 (KOZ, Atelier du pont, BP architecture, Philéas) have been with us from the start. Later, we were joined by Marrec and Combarel, Philippe Gazeau, Xavier Gonzales, RH+, Olivier Fassio, Emmanuel Saadi, and others.

This represents an expanded generation of architects, aged 30 to 50, engaged in both production and teaching, sharing a combined enthusiasm for dialogue and action.
