Administrative complex

Lille, France

Hamonic + Masson & Associés is delighted to have been selected, alongside Groupe Duval, as the winning team for the transformation of the Lille Administrative Complex.

Located at a strategic crossroads within the Lille metropolitan area, the Administrative Complex is a prominent urban landmark, both for its visibility and its history. The project aims to transform this emblematic feature of Lille’s skyline and 20th-century heritage into an open, vibrant, and sustainable destination, capable of addressing today’s major urban challenges: housing, mixed-use development, territorial attractiveness, and the ecological transition.

Our proposal adopts an approach that respects the site’s architectural and heritage identity while adapting it to the city’s contemporary needs. This transformation includes redefining its relationship with the urban fabric through landscape renaturalization and the enhancement of public spaces.

A panoramic rooftop restaurant will create a new vantage point over the city while offering a welcoming social destination. In dialogue with the nearby Zénith Arena and Convention Centre, it will contribute to the vitality and attractiveness of this key metropolitan district.

Transforming a high-rise building originally designed for office use into a residential tower (IGH housing) represents an exciting architectural, technical, and urban challenge—an opportunity to reinvent the existing structure while embedding the project within a framework of sustainability and resource-conscious design.
